Underwater Photo Shoot: Sandycove, Sunday May 28th

acvboch's picture

Calling all underwater camera owners!

On Sunday 28th May, UCD SAC are holding it's very first photo shoot. The theme is "What is there to seein Sandycove?" and the aim is to have everyone submit their 3 favourite underwater shots that are taken on a dive in Sandycove that day.

HW is at 12:40 in Dun Laoghaire, and a shore marshallwill be on site from 12:00 until 13:30. Every photographer must be accompanied by a patient buddy
(without any distracting photo equipment) to make sure they don't get too engrossed in their art and completely forget their depth, time, etc!

Whereas until now most people bring their cameras on dives to capture something they might see, this is your opportunity to spend an entire dive finding that perfect shot! And as the dive is relatively shallow, you'll have loads of time and good light too.

There will (hopefully) be prizes for different categories, and possibly a lecture on photography to complement the event.

If you are interested in participating, send me your name, grade, mobile number and camera model by Friday, May 19th.

It is up to the photographer to organise their buddy! (and whatever gear you need, incl. full tanks). Also, developing costs are the responsibility of the
participant. Shots will be accepted in hard or soft copy, but only 3 per person.

If anyone would like to lend a camera for the day, let me know. Plan is to offer those to anyone who doesn’t own a camera but would like to participate.

Any questions, drop me a line
