Trainee 1*: Training Programme...

New Trainees join the club in September by putting their names down at the Sports Expo (September 17th - 20th 2007) and coming along to the intro lecture and try-a-dive on 2nd October!!

Training consists of a compulsory lecture series on the theory and practice of diving, and one hour pool sessions on Tuesday nights in Mespil pool (near the Burlington) from 9-10pm.

Lectures will take place before the pool sessions in the AG block in UCD for the first 4 weeks of training, and the remaining lectures will take place over the course of a weekend in February (date TBC)

There will be a snorkelling weekend away in mid-November to the West of Ireland.

During the winter there will be snorkelling every Sunday morning in Sandycove. The first real dive weekend away will be St. Patrick's weekend, usually to MalinBeg in Donegal. There you'll do your first dives and get qualified as a CMAS 1* - a qualification that will take you diving anywhere in the world!!
